Ear Mites in Goats

Many goats suffer with ear problems and infections. Often times, the cause can be due to ear mites.
Luckily, it is very easy to spot, and also quite easy to treat, and prevent from happening again.

Symptoms

A goat with outer ear mites
    • Scratching ears with back hooves
    • Rubbing or scratching head/ears on various objects (fences, ropes, buildings, etc)
    •  Hair loss on the ear and head area
    • Visible Mites on or in the ears

  • Treatment

    Mix equal parts:

    • Mullen infused oil (Extra Virgin Olive Oil Based)
    • Garlic Infused Oil (Extra Virgin Olive Oil Based)
    • A couple capsules of Vitamine E to act as a preservative and to help in skin healing

To use: Apply 6-12 drops to the affected area of the earflap or ear canal. FLOODING THE EAR CANAL IS NOT NECESSARY AND MAY CAUSE AN INNER EAR INFECTION!
